The mission of the Clarksville- Montgomery county school system is to "Educate and empower students to reach their potential."
There are more than 28,000 students in the district - which is the seventh largest district in the State of Tennessee.
CMCSS is one of only ten districts in the nation that is ISO 9001 certified - which is a standard of effectiveness and efficiency recognized by businesses and organizations around the world.
The public school system has received a number of accolades including Expansion Management magazine's blue ribbon award for outstanding achievement. They have also been chosen by SchoolMatch as being among the country's top 10% of public school systems to meet parent expectations. The CMCSS School Board has been recognized as the best in Tennessee for three of the last five years.
Honors received by the teachers include the Best First-Year Teacher in Tennessee, the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching Math and Science, District Teacher of the Year, State Teacher of the Year, State Middle School Teacher of the Year, State Science Teacher of the Year, and many others.
